First campuses go live this fall
Be the place the first date happens.
Sarx is a campus-only app, and it decides where a matched couple goes. Every student is verified with a campus email before they can see anyone, the night happens in a public room with staff in it, and your table is held. It opens one campus at a time.
A note from the founder
The first dinners are on me.
I'm putting my own money where my mouth is. For the couples Sarx matches first, I pay up to $200 of the first date night bill, for whatever they order from your menu. The couple arrives having already decided to come; you serve your normal margin.
That is what "tonight, on us" means on the match screen. Sarx launches small: one matched couple, one dinner, one campus at a time.
Run a place a first date should happen in? Say hello — it comes straight to me.
Settings. Everything on it is invented for the demo.
The app, screen by screen
- Launch The half second before anything loads.
- Verify The gate. Nothing else in the app is reachable until this passes.
- Discover The main surface: people and events on one screen.
- Match It's a match. The night, and who is paying for it.
- Messages The thread opens first, carrying what Sarx proposes.
- Shortlist Seven vetted spots, one card at a time. Swipe it.
- Both of them Two answers, held until they have both chosen.
- The bill The end of the meal, and how the venue gets paid.
- Settings The third tab: account, notifications, safety.
What we would not compromise on
- The campus email is the gate. Nothing is visible to anyone until it is verified, and it is the one thing that cannot be skipped.
- Nobody ever receives anybody's coordinates. Only a distance band — and no operator screen shows them either. A database check enforces it.
- Meetups happen in curated public places. A library, a campus green, a coffee shop. There is no custom-location field to abuse.
- Showing up is what counts. A meetup is closed out by being there. A no-show is recorded against the pair, and they go on cooldown.
- Every operator action is attributable. Written to an append-only log under a named person — including the ones that were refused.
Where things stand
- Waitlist
- Open at sarx.link/early. A campus stays shut until enough of it has signed up, and the quickest way to open it is to bring your chapter.
- App
- A native iOS app, in build. The screens in this section are the concept it is built to, drawn from the same components on every page.
- Launch
- First campuses go live this fall, one at a time.
